Join Us to "Help a Hero": A Fundraiser for Charles Israel at Skinny's Bar & Grill!
Skinny's Bar & Grill is proud to host a special "Help a Hero" weekend on July 11th and 12th, 2025, dedicated to supporting a true community champion, Charles Israel. Join us at 1065 Sullivan Rd in Newnan, GA 30265, as we come together to assist a lifelong public servant and first responder who has dedicated his life to helping others.
Charles Israel is a devoted father, grandfather, and husband, and a dedicated member of the Heard County community. For three decades, he has served as a public servant and first responder, always putting others first. His own challenges, however, took a difficult turn in September 2007 when he was diagnosed with stage 3 throat cancer. Charles bravely underwent extensive radiation and chemotherapy, ultimately defeating the cancer.
Unfortunately, the treatments left him with significant scar tissue, severely impacting his immune system and quality of life. He's since faced persistent breathing difficulties and other health issues. Recently, doctors discovered his epiglottis is almost nonexistent, causing food and liquids to enter his lungs and posing a serious risk. The damage has also affected his larynx, leading to a gradual loss of his voice. Without major surgery to create a stoma, his life expectancy is at risk.
Charles has humbly asked only for prayers and support during this challenging time. However, his medical expenses are mounting, and he will be unable to work for an unknown period as he recovers and learns to breathe, eat, talk, and live with his stoma.
