🌿 Help Plant Natives & Protect Our Iconic Fig Trees 🌳

Lend a hand to plant native plants and help preserve the 140-year-old fig trees at Islington Park. These ancient giants - the green lungs of our neighbourhood - will breathe easier and live longer with new native plants growing alongside their roots.

🌱 Meet the newest Landcare group in Newcastle, Islington Park Landcare, and find out how you can get involved in caring for your local park.

A relaxed, family-friendly morning for all ages! Come along for as long or as little as you like. This event is free and everyone is welcome.

📅 Date: Wednesday 16 July
🕙 Time: 10am – 12pm
📍 Location: Under the Maitland Road fig trees, Islington Park (near the cricket field). Walk, ride or park at the end of Power Street.

✅ What to bring:
Wear a hat, covered shoes, long sleeves, and long pants. All gloves, tools, and planting equipment provided.
