🌑 Cacti Moon descends upon The Oak 🌑
Friday October 17th with Not Good, Not Bad
The night is free, but the air is heavy.
We unveil The Murder, a chorus of wings and shadow.
The Murder is Cacti Moon’s newest single, a dark and atmospheric track that circles around the figure of the crow as both omen and witness. Weaving layered guitars and haunting vocals into a sound that feels ritualistic and unrelenting. At its core, the song is about gathering: a flock, a reckoning, a truth too heavy to ignore, transforming the imagery of crows into a chorus of defiance and release.
Emerging from the dry, dark soil of unceded Yuwaalaraay Country, Cacti Moon crafts songs like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle telling tales of their past. Their songs are cryptic, compelling, and layered with meaning. At the heart of the project is a lead vocalist whose voice carries both razor-sharp precision and haunting emotional depth. Living with Dissociative Identity Disorder, they draw from a shifting internal world that becomes a powerful creative force rather than a limitation. Each track is shaped by different inner perspectives, resulting in a sound that moves fluidly across genres.
The band is completed by a commanding six-piece ensemble that brings the vision to life. With guitar, keys, flute and a driving rhythm section, they conjure an atmosphere that feels both ritualistic and deeply human. Cacti Moon is not easily defined. It is a soundscape to be experienced, questioned and felt in full.
Joining Cacti Moon is Not Good Not Bad, who play a colourful introspective bop that will move you (emotionally & to the dance floor). Not Good Not Bad create a rich sonic buffet for the listener to get lost in. With two luscious self-recorded/mixed EP’s & two singles already under their belt, Not Good Not Bad have cemented themselves as a Newcastle favourite.
