Step back in time and experience the rhythm, energy, and joy of 1920s–1940s swing with Rock and Rhythm Dance Studio! Every Monday night at the Polish Association of Newcastle, our huge dance floor comes alive with the vintage charm of Swing and Lindy Hop.
Whether you’re brand new or a regular on the social floor, join us for a night full of laughter, learning, and lively footwork.

💃 ABOUT YOUR TEACHER
With over 20 years of experience in swing, rock and roll, and Lindy Hop, learnt to dance with All Shook Up and Blue Suede Shoes, and have proudly been a member and performed with the Sydney Swing Katz for more than 15 years.
These classes aren’t just about learning steps—they’re about connecting to the music, expressing yourself, and finding joy in movement with a welcoming dance community.

🕖 7PM – BEGINNERS SWING
Worried you have two left feet? Don’t be! Our beginner-friendly class will have you grooving in no time. You’ll learn the foundations of swing dancing in a relaxed, supportive environment—perfect for those stepping onto the dance floor for the very first time.
You don’t need a partner or any experience—just wear comfy clothes, bring your enthusiasm, and let the good times roll.
📅 Beginners are encouraged to start within the first two weeks (4th or 11th August), or wait for the next block starting 1st September.

🕗 8PM – INTERMEDIATE SWING
Already have the basics down? It’s time to level up! Our intermediate swing and Lindy Hop class dives into more advanced moves, technique, partner connection, and playful styling. This class is the perfect progression after completing our beginner block.
Build your confidence, expand your repertoire, and take your social dancing to the next level!

❓FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. When can I start?
Beginners: Start in the first 2 weeks of a block.
Intermediate dancers: Drop in anytime!
2. What should I wear?
Flat shoes and comfy clothes are best. Dress up if you like—but it’s totally up to you!
3. Do I need a partner?
Nope! Come solo, with a friend, or bring a group. We rotate partners to help everyone learn and meet new people. (And I jump in too for extra support!)
4. Do I have to rotate partners?
It’s encouraged, but never required. Stick with your partner if you prefer—we want everyone to feel at ease while learning.
5. Do I need to book?
No bookings needed—just drop in and join the fun!
