INTRODUCTION TO AUTHENTIC KIZOMBA WORKSHOP
Join our first 100% authentic kizomba workshop in Newcastle!
2 weekends, 4 days, 10 hours to discover the Angolan flavor of authentic kizomba.
IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT STEPS!
This workshop is designed to provide a holistic understanding of the dance.
Culture & History: Understanding the roots and evolution of Kizomba.
Musicality & Flow: Learning to hear the music and move with intention, not just steps and patterns.
Technique: Leading and following techniques focusing on connection.
Etiquette: Navigating the social and ethical aspects of the dance floor.
Schedule & Structure:
Each day will include 1-1.5 hour lesson and 1-1.5 hour practice time where you can ask questions and get direct personalized feedback during the dance session.

Meet Your Instructor:
The workshop will be run by Elena, whose passion for kizomba started in 2010 while she lived in London where she learnt from the best Angolan kizomba teachers and dancers. Afterward London she danced for two years in Portugal, the home of the largest Angolan kizomba scene in Europe. The most authentic kizomba exposure, without doubt, happened during her multiple trips to Angola where she learnt from the very source about music, dancing and culture in depth.
Registration:
No partner is required; we manage registrations to ensure a balanced lead-to-follow ratio.
Early Bird Rate: $80 (Available until 5 Feb.)
Standard Rate: $100 (After 5 Feb.)

Our aim is to grow the community of good quality dancers and as we grow, with time, we can invite the best teachers from Australia and overseas to improve the skills of our dancers.
