Cléo from 5 to 7

An eternally elegant French New Wave classic, Cléo from 5 to 7 offers a real-time portrait of Cléo, a singer awaiting the results of a biopsy.

The clock ticks for the viewer as it does for Cléo (Corinne Marchand), who spends the afternoon wandering the streets of Paris. She has a brief encounter with a passing soldier, meets with her composers, and buys a new hat with her maid before finally meeting her doctor to receive the diagnosis. As lover, performer, and shopper, she is always a woman expecting to be told she has stomach cancer.
