Join us for a day of information and celebration as we celebrate 100 years of Stoke-on-Trent being granted City Status!
From 10am until 2pm come and speak to a range of organisations offering services and products.
Exhibitors include: Guide Dogs, Seeing Solutions, Blind Veterans, Humanware, TPT Sight Loss Councils, VisionAid, North Staffs Carers, Appetite, Medequip, Associated Optical, Synapptic, Staffordshire Cricket, QAC, Action Deafness, The North Staffs Pensioners Convention, Healthwatch Stoke-on-Trent, Optelec, Update Talking newspaper and the SSLA Braille class
Between 10am and 2pm there will be talks and workshops from the following:
Dave Steele: Award-winning poet, author, speaker, and advocate, also known as The Blind Poet. Dave recently made a film as part of the BBC's Our Lives series, called 'The Film I'll Never See', currently available on BBC iPlayer
Claire Sisk: Claire is a presenter, content creator, and disability advocate. Claire began to lose her sight following a stroke at age 29. She has 109k followers on Instagram and regularly appears on ITV's This Morning.
Jenna Goodwin: Jenna is a local artist, writer and historian, known as 'The Red Haired Stokie', she will be delivering two History Workshops throughout the day, helping us to celebrate our city.
From 2pm we will be having a bit of a party with food, cake and live music from Staffordshire-based musician Ash Wall
The event is free to attend, parking is also free, the bar will be open from 12pm for anyone who wants to purchase a drink. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
