Cegin Teifi's second community meal will be a collaboration with Clynfyw Care Farm service users, who will help plan the menu and cook the food. The meal will be free, with a Pay-It-Forward scheme in operation for those who would like to/are able to contribute:

Cegin Teifi has been awarded the Partneriaeth Bwyd Ceredigion Small Grant to run this community meal.
The Cegin Teifi project got off to a great start with its first event in May at The Guildhall, Cardigan. The community meal was a resounding success, with 140 people fed, 40 of those meals going out to families supported by Flying Start, and 25 people of all ages taking part in cooking and clearing up.
Celebrating local producers and traditional Welsh cookery, a hearty dish of Cawl was served. Made with ingredients from eight local producers, the feedback was very positive with comments including, “The best Cawl I’ve ever eaten!”, and many attendees asking for the community meal to be a weekly event.
Our next steps are securing funding so that the community meals can be more regular, and work can begin on the other parts of the community kitchen including the community fridge and cooking workshops. Watch this space!
Cegin Teifi will also be at Cardigan’s River and Food Festival, August 16th, with a demo about cooking quick meals from scratch, with local seasonal produce.
Cegin Teifi is a joint initiative by Ffynnon and Ein Cegin.
