Welcome to Arts For Dementia Awareness Day!

Community artists and activity/group co-ordinators! Come and join us at Newcastle City Library for a day filled with creativity and awareness. This event aims to showcase the power of art in supporting individuals with dementia and their carers. From insightful talks about how community workers and activity co-ordinators can work with artists to exploring some of the creative resources available to use when working in the community, there's something for everyone. Top the day off with some lunch, network and natter (free lunch included provided by Big River Bakery). Let's come together to learn, create, and raise awareness for this important cause. Mark your calendars and be part of this inspiring day!

This is a free training event for participatory artists and community workers working in Newcastle, delivered through Newcastle City Council.

Info: Ale will discuss how arts development works, how NCC look for potential partners to work with on an art project of their choice. How to write briefs, shortlist/interviewing together - so the right artist is commissioned to fit the needs of all the partners involved. She will also discuss artist training, costs and how NCC can support with training needs along with DBS support.
