Join us for the Newburyport Pride Parade & Festival on Saturday, May 31st. You’ll join OVER 700 MARCHERS and the LGBTQ+ community, friends & allies, as we celebrate joy, hope and resilience. Your visibility matters, so let your voices be heard and demonstrate that “Existence is Resistance”!
The Parade kicks off at noon, winds through beautiful Downtown Newburyport, and ends at the Pride Festival in Brown Square from 1 pm - 4 pm. Best of all, it’s all free!

PARADE: the 40—person precision NE Pride Color Guard, the swinging Leftish Marching Band, the Pride Drummers, Exit Dance Company, Classic Cars from the Lambda Car Club, Miss Newburyport Pride herself Madam Zapple, a tribute to Queer Icons, a special section dedicated to our Trans brothers & sisters (including a huge Trans flag), amazing local non-profits organizations, supportive religious groups, arts organizations, the Boston Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, fabulous Newburyport businesses & sponsors, families, friends & members of the Newburyport Community, and more! Our colorful display includes a huge rainbow balloon arch, costumes, performers, and other surprises.
FESTIVAL: Once again Brown Square in downtown Newburyport will be the site of the Newburyport Pride Festival. Hundreds of residents and visitors with gather for community, comradery, and festivity for the festival's second year, which will feature:
◉ Tons of vendors, some returning (such as Naisie's Glass and Madam Zapple) and some new (such as Rabid Circus and The Davis Limited Boutique)
◉ Nonprofits serving the local and LGBTQ+ community including Sweet Paws, Jeanne Geiger, and AgeSpan
◉ LGBTQ+ groups from around the region, including Haverhill Pride, the North Shore LGBTQ+ Network, and Renaissance New England Transgender Support, Outreach & Education
◉ Kids' and teens' area including balloons, henna, face painting, martial arts demos, Bubblicious, clothing swap, and more!
◉ Speakers on the steps of City Hall from 2-2.30 pm and DJ from 1-3.15 pm; sensory-aware time from 3.15-4 pm
◉ Food vendors include local favorites Kona Ice, Beefie Boyz, Rosita's Cantina and the Cookie Jar Kitchen
◉ Newburyport Pride photo booth, new 2025 t-shirt design for sale, visual displays and more!
