Juneteenth Celebration

Join us for a full day of events to celebrate Juneteenth!

Kick off the day with the Newburyport Flag Raising ceremony at NBPT City Hall at 10am. Come hear keynote speaker, Kabria Baumgartner, music and the raising of the Juneteenth flag.

Following the Flag Raising will be the NBPT Black History Initiative Sign Unveiling at Green Street. Witness the unveiling of NBHI’s historic interpretive sign called, “Remembering the Women Who Raised America” which highlights Newburyport resident Caroline C. Cottrell.

From 10 AM - 1 PM is the YWCA Block Party! There will be music, activities, open swim, vendors and food trucks in Brown Square. Open swim will be at the YWCA pool.
