Logging Festival 2025
Date: Saturday, August 30, 2025 and Sunday, August 31, 2025
Location: Brooks Park, 28 State Road, Newaygo, MI 49337
Admission: Free to attend; items available for purchase.
Festival Highlights:
- Lumberjack & Lumberjill Competitions: Witness both professional and amateur competitors showcase their skills in events like the two-man saw and axe-throwing.
- Sidewalk Sales: From Thursday through Sunday, explore downtown Newaygo's local merchants offering special sales on various items, including clothing, books, and handcrafted gifts.
- Food Truck Frenzy: Enjoy a variety of culinary delights from numerous food trucks, offering everything from BBQ to gourmet snacks and sweet treats.
- Vendor Village: Browse through a bustling marketplace featuring unique crafts, souvenirs, and handmade treasures, supporting local artisans.
- Parade: On Sunday, experience the grand parade showcasing vintage logging equipment, local floats, and celebrating the rich history and community spirit of River Country.
Additional Activities:
- Live Wood Carving: Observe artists transform logs into intricate sculptures throughout the festival.
- Arts, Crafts & Vendor Show: Open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both days, featuring a variety of artisans and vendors.
- Newaygo Fire Department Annual Breakfast: Start your Saturday with a hearty breakfast from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Newaygo Fire Department.
- Marshall Memorial Run: Participate in the 22nd Annual run on Saturday at 9:00 AM.
- Water Ball Battle: Join the Newaygo Fire Department's fun competition on Justice Street at 3:00 PM on Sunday.
Parking and Amenities:
- Public Parking: Available behind The Stream, behind Heritage Museum to Parsley's, marked spaces along M-37, school parking lots, and around Brooks Park. Please use crosswalks and avoid blocking driveways. Note: Portions of M-37, Quarterline, and Justice streets will be closed for the parade on Sunday.
- Pets: Well-behaved pets on leashes are welcome. Owners must pick up after their pets.
- Parent Station: An enclosed booth is available for privacy, suitable for changing or feeding children. Located next to the stage.
- Security: Newaygo Police Department and Reserve Officers will be present throughout the event. A first aid kit is available at the chamber booth by the stage.
