WAC MAY WEEK EVENTS

Monday May 5th- “HBCU Family Skate Night”

Join the Wilmington (DE) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated for our HBCU themed roller-skating night fundraiser. Bring out the whole family to the Christiana Skating Center on Monday May 5th from 6pm to 9pm. Don’t forget to show your HBCU spirit and Divine Nine pride by sporting your paraphernalia! Tickets are $20 and the first 40 people to arrive will receive a free $5 food voucher. This event is open to all ages, but ALL CHILDREN UNDER 18 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT. Proceeds will go towards supporting chapter youth programming.

Join the Wilmington (DE) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated’s Economic Development Committee at the Route 9 Library for a financial Literacy presentation, where we will educate middle school and high school youth and parents on the importance of financial literacy and topics including but not limited to budgeting, building credit and entrepreneurship. This event is free and open to the public, but targeted to middle school and high school age students, and ALL CHILDREN UNDER 18 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT. Registration is required

Wednesday May 7th- “Fav Fit Fun Hip Hop Aerobics"

Join the Wilmington (DE) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated for our second time around with Briana Hayman (owner of Delaware Center for Dance) for her hip hop aerobics class Two classes will be offered: 6:30pm-7:30pm (old school hip hop) and 7:45pm to 8:45pm (new school hip hop). Classes are open to all adults over the age of 18 at a cost of $20 per class.

Thursday May 8th- “Oh The Places You'll Go"

Join the Wilmington (DE) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated’s International Awareness and Involvement Committee for a fully interactive cultural exchange. Participants will learn and explore various cultures by immersing themselves in a scavenger hunt that includes speaking in different languages, trading currency, role playing careers, and other activities. The event will conclude with a community circle, where participants will be able to reflect on all their experiences through a collective art experience. This event is free and open to the public, but targeted to middle school and high school age students, and ALL CHILDREN UNDER 18 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT. Registration is required.

Friday May 9th- “Dine with The Deltas”

Join the Wilmington (DE) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated for our Dine with the Deltas event at Iron Hill Brewery in Wilmington, located on the Riverfront. 20% of the proceeds (excluding alcohol, gratuity and taxes) will go towards supporting chapter youth programming.

WAC was chartered on March 6, 1949, in New Castle County, Delaware and has over 325 members. The chapter is a non-profit organization that provides community service through its Five-Point Programmatic Thrust.
