An Evening with Yvonnick Prené

Yvonnick Prené, a Paris-born and New Jersey–based chromatic harmonica virtuoso, is widely recognized as one of the leading voices of his instrument in modern jazz. A Sorbonne University master’s graduate, he has released a series of acclaimed albums on Sunnyside Records: Listen! (2023), featuring Jeremy Pelt, Dayna Stephens, Bill Stewart, and Kevin Hays; Jobim’s World (2024), in lyrical duo with pianist Geoffrey Keezer; and Un Harmonica Pour Django (2025), recorded in Paris with legendary guitarist Biréli Lagrène. Beyond the stage and studio, Prené is the founder of the New York Harmonica School, where he has nurtured a new generation of players. His lyrical improvisations, innovative approach, and commitment to education continue to expand the horizons of the harmonica in jazz.
