Gatewaycon - Newark's first Boardgame Convention!
Join like-minded boardgame and tabletop gamers in this friendly, accessible event designed for fun and relaxed gaming. Whether experienced or curious, this closed event occurs in a comfortable, quirky and warm venue in the stately Georgian Buttermarket building in Newark's historic market square
Hosted at the Letsxcape Together boardgame cafe, guests will have access to over 1000 boardgames from the cafe collection. Throughout the day guests can enjoy hosted 'gateway' games including Splendor and Azul (including a live leaderboard for small prizes at the end of the day). For those tabletop 2000AD enthusiasts there will be several participation games of 'Judge Dredd' by Warlord Games to explore. For those with a military curiosity there will be hosted games of Memoir 44 which is an excellent opportunity to investigate games with a historic theme. And let's not forget those with an interest in role-playing - there will be some very light role-play activities, including Ultimate Werewolf and a 'Role-play Corner' to enjoy too. Finally, to keep with our theme of light hearted gaming there will also be a 'Party Corner' of highlighted quick, light and fun games to engage our growing community of gamers.

Guests can also pick up a bargain or two in a 'bring and buy' available at highlighted times throughout the day. Guests will also have access to the cafe menu which includes Barista style coffee, locally baked cakes and a light menu focussed upon sandwiches.
