Hi Everyone,
August's outing for Charabanc has come highly recommended by other u3as to me including Ashbourne u3a and personally I now cannot wait to go and I do hope you will come too.
The coach will be the 53 seater which has a toilet and mic is already booked.
I just need you to come.
Trish
Charabanc outing for August
Tuesday 19th August
Floral Media, near Newark
A special day out which includes a two-course lunch
Floral Media is set in the beautiful Nottingham countryside which has been developed over the last 22 years into a space full of diverse points of interest from Herbaceous Borders and wildlife ponds to various gardens and vegetable plots and the highlight is the Flower Farm which is 3 acres dedicated to cut flowers.
We will be greeted with included tea/coffee/biscuits on arrival followed by a talk and tour which lasts about 1 hour. There will be a demonstration, usually floral, which will be raffled off in aid of breast cancer charity also during the day.
Your locally sourced lunch is included, and all the food is homemade, sourced locally or grown in the garden.
A typical menu – Home cooked ham or chicken/turkey, salmon, warm frittata, warm new potatoes all served with a large selection of seasonal salads.
Choice of deserts eg chocolate roulade, home baked cheesecake, Pavlova, Bakewell tart, fresh fruit salad. Served with fresh cream
Followed by tea and coffee.
You will have chance to relax in garden or wander through the gardens or just relax in one of the many chairs.
All the paths are wheelchair friendly and there are lots of seats dotted throughout the gardens too.
There is a small plant sales area and a small gift shop.
Cost £38 which includes coach travel, driver’s tip, a two-course lunch of your choice, all tea/coffee/biscuits, a talk and tour by the owners and a demonstration (usually floral) which is raffled off.
Floral Media is only open to groups so do come and we will have a special day out.
