Flash Rosenberg • Monologue
^ is an “Attention Span for Hire” who draws, photographs, writes, and performs. She is a Guggenheim Fellow, who served as the pioneering Artist-in-Residence for LIVE from the NY Public Library. She is a three-time Mainstage Storyteller for The Moth. Voted Funniest Person in Philadelphia by The City Paper for her daily "Flash Moments" on WXPN. Academy Award finalist for her experimental short, "Pulse of Desire." Flash Rosenberg Studio is a full-service art, motion picture, merriment, and mischief factory, based in Harlem. She has two turtles and infinite questions.
Ophira Eisenberg • "Leaving a Mark: A Comedy About Scars" (Monologue Excerpt)
^is a Canadian-born standup comedian, writer, and host. She hosted NPR’s comedy trivia show for 9-years, where she interviewed and played silly games with hundreds of celebrities including Sir Patrick Stewart, Awkwafina, Rosie Perez, Yo-Yo Ma, Bob The Drag Queen, Nick Kroll, Chelsea Handler, Jim Gaffigan, Michael C. Hall, and so many others. As a comic and a parent to a 6-year-old, Ophira is the host of the new comedy podcast Parenting Is A Joke co-produced by iHeart Radio and Pretty Good Friends Productions. She can be seen live, regularly headlining across the United States, Canada, and Europe delivering her unique blend of standup and storytelling to a loyal fan base of smart, irreverent comedy lovers. She has appeared at Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival, The New Yorker Festival, The New York Comedy Festival, Moontower Comedy Festival, Bumbershoot, The Nantucket Film Festival, Women in Comedy Festival and more. Her new comedy album at special is available on iTunes and is streaming now on YouTube. She will be previewing her next comedy special at The Ideas Depot (Washington Depot, CT) this fall and recording her next comedy special this November.
Richard Hoehler • "Acting Out" (Solo Piece with Music)
^ In addition to his theatre and television work, Richard has authored and performed four solo shows (I of Storm, Working Class (Off-Off Broadway Award), Human Resources, New Jersey/New York in New York, regionally, and abroad. His newest show, E., has been featured at the Cornelia Street Café, Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, The Commons in Brooklyn and the Lounge at Hudson View Gardens. For fourteen years Richard has led the Theatre Workshop at Otisville State Pr*son where he teaches weekly acting classes and has staged seven productions. He is the founder of Acting Out, a professional theatre company for formerly incarcerated actors in residence at HB Studio and he recently received the Justice Through the Arts Award by the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. His book, Acting Out: How a Pr*son Theatre Workshop Broke Free (Applause Books), came out earlier this year. Richard is a member of National Alliance of Acting Teachers and the Dramatists Guild. He is an adjunct professor of Theatre at John Jay and City College and an acting instructor at HB Studio and Stella Adler Studio.
Jennifer Rawlings • Book Excerpt
^ has been entertaining audiences internationally for decades. You may have seen Jennifer on Comedy Central, CMT, PBS, VH-1, A&E, CNN, HLN, TEDx (3 talks!), the film & "I AM BATTLE COMIC". Her award-winning special, "I ONLY SMOKE IN WAR ZONES", will be streaming soon on a device near you. A favorite at prestige festivals including: “Humor for Peace Festival”, Carnegie Hall's "Voices of Hope", and the Dublin Comedy Festival. A beloved keynote speaker known for her inspirational wit, Jennifer was named as one of the “21 Changemakers of the 21st Century” by Women’s E News. In addition to mothering five children, cooking, cleaning, playing her accordion, and touring the globe, she is currently finishing two new books.
James Braly • "The Monthly Nut" (Monologue Excerpt)
^ is the first two-time winner of The Moth GrandSlam and has contributed autobiographical stories to This American Life and The New York Times. His Off Broadway monologue Life in a Marital Institution: 20 Years of Monogamy in One Terrifying Hour was a New York Times Critics Pick. The show spawned a fourteen-city national tour produced by Meredith Vieira Productions, a live audio recording that spent twelve weeks on the Amazon Hot 100 Comedy List, and a memoir published by St. Martins Press. In his other professional life, James ghostwrites speeches and books for executives and entrepreneurs – including a couple bestsellers he’d crow about if he hadn’t signed NDAs.
