Welcome to New York City Institute for Data, Engineering, Architecture, and Standards (IDEAS). We're a group that meets periodically to discuss technical topics in data, software engineering, and related fields.
The Event:
On July 16th, join us for an unfiltered dive into the real-world challenges of bringing Generative AI (GenAI) to production. Despite a surge in innovation and funding over the past five years, many organizations remain stuck—caught between promising prototypes and production-ready systems.
This session will feature a lineup of experienced practitioners sharing hard-earned lessons, common pitfalls, and repeatable strategies for moving GenAI workflows from proof-of-concept to value-generating deployment.
Whether you're just stepping into AI or you're deep in the weeds of system architecture and deployment, this event will deliver grounded, practical insights.
This is a free event. Food and beverages will be provided.
Your Speakers:
1) TBD @ Snowflake - TBD
2) Patrick Phrayme - (Principal Solutions Engineer @ Dataiku)
Evaluating LLM Workflows and Agents - Dataiku may be a French company, but to us, BLEU and ROUGE mean much more than "blue" and "red" when it comes to evaluating LLM outputs. Learn about some common frameworks and see how easy it is to set up using the Dataiku platform.
3) Gonzalo Betegon (Solutions Architect @ Cohere) - AI on Iceberg Scaling Beyond the Sandbox: Production-Ready AI Agent Automation - Learn how to build robust, automated AI pipelines that can handle complex tasks. This session covers practical strategies for orchestrating AI agents, designing fault-tolerant workflows, and deploying systems that move beyond development into real-world production environments.
4) Tullie Murrell (CEO & Co-Founder @ Shaped)
Generative AI is changing the way companies build search, recommendation and personalization systems. In this talk, Tullie Murrell, the CEO & Co-founder of Shaped, will share how companies are making the most of this technology shift to build better user experiences and drive business growth.
