Our next and final NYC Drawing the Dance Workshop of 2025 is as follows:
Date: October 19, 2025, SUNDAY.
Time: 1:30 p.m. (EST) - In-person at the theater & also live broadcasting from New YORK (EST).
Venue : Dixon Place Theater, 161A Chrystie Street, Btwn Delancey & Rivington, NY 10002.

Originally from Milwaukee Wisconsin, Jacob McKee is a multi-disciplined artist with experience in, singing, acting, designing, aerial arts, and was a Contrabass player for close to a decade. Upon moving to New York, Jacob immersed himself in the circus world and for the past 7 years has trained with many of the world's best circus coaches: most notably, Marie-Michelle Faber, Maximiliano Torandell, Lisbeth Mikoleit, Anna Venizelos, Olaf Treibel and many others. He has been seen performing for multiple NYC based event companies and has been seen in Venues such as Legacy Castle, The Box, Slipper Room, and Paradise Club; and is a main cast member in the Immersive Dinner show MoonRise by Rigolo

This is a special workshop with an aerial artist. This will be diferrent and a new experience. Jacob will be using a Lyra for the dance moves and will hold poses using the Lyra or otherwise.
Duration: Approx. 2hrs workshop with a 10 minutes break for costume change. Each half is around 30 to 40 min long. Poses start at 30 sec to 1 min for warm up and then we move on to 3min, 5min, 8min in the first half and 5 min,10 min and 15 minutes poses in the second half. Dancer dancers slowly before holding each pose.
What to expect: The dancer will dance and move very slowly and will hold poses in between dance moves. (In this workshop the movements will be on the Lyra and some poses on the the Lyra and off on experiemnting poses with Lyra).
In-Person Tickets in advance: $20. In-Person attendees please arrive at the theater at least 15 minutes before the workshop time.Virtual tickets: $18. * Zoom link will be sent to the virtual attendees, on the morning of the event.Tickets at the door (cash preferred): $25.

If you feel sick & can not join in person, please let us know asap and we will be happy to send you the zoom link instead, and you may attend the workshop virtually.
BRING ALL YOUR OWN MATERIALS, drawing boards, portable easels, or draw on pads on your laps, etc. No glitters, please. Be mindful of your belongings. The organizer or the venue are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Dixon Place has music stands that we often use for keeping materials or drawing pads.
Each artist keeps his/her own drawings/paintings. The dancers and/or the organizers may request the artists for a photo of the art work. It will be at the artists' discretions whether they want to share the photos of their art or not.
And lastly, there won't be any instruction or any instructor. We expect the attending artists to have prior knowledge of drawing and painting to try these workshops for a new experience.
