This workshop is in celebration of New York Design Week. It will teach the discovery of mixing, coloring, casting, and finishing one small complementary Concrete Artifact. Hands-on, low-commitment, and lots of fun, this process demonstrates the transformation from liquid to solid within minutes.
If one Artifact isn’t enough, you can cast additional Artifacts from $20-$60, depending on size! Robyn is an Abstract Photographer & Synthesizer. Without words, she can tell a story and capture emotions through details naked to the eye.
To keep her creative skills sharp, she formed RYSQ Design Collective in 2005 as an umbrella under which she could collaborate with friends near and far to help them build their ideas and have them help her take ideas to the next level. That is priceless.
About Robyn:
Robyn Squires is a trained architect based in Lower East Side, and has been working in the building industry since 2004.
In 2005, she is founded the RYSQ Design Collective. Now the sitting creative director, the Collective’s intent was to form a collaborative platform among her network to help develop ideas and bridge the gap globally with its creative network. In 2018, RYSQ LLC evolved into a consulting collective in Design, Construction, and Development with a focus on wellbeing and sustainability. In parallel, it also continued to explore new materials and technology through multi-disciplinary art exhibitions and commissions in order to scale ideas as an intrinsic part of the overall ethos.
20 years later, she finally took the leap to start an Art co-op venture under the name Sqrypt Atelier in 2024 as a means to scale these ideas further as a developer. The proof of concept is currently in progress in Upstate New York, at Inn Way Art Co-op, with an art residency in Japan and California. Her long term vision is to be a developer of opportunities to cultivate building moments that weave this network together.
Her current artistic media fuses botanicals and colors with textures of light and sound into concrete. The current artifacts on display at Peak Design are inspired by the colorways of their current collection and produced during her art residency in Japan this winter in conjunction with the live demos and workshops being done this month to activate the space and gallery exhibit.
