ABOUT SHAWN WHITLEY, BASS

Shawn Whitley affectionately known as “OG” is a common figure on the NYC music scene. Known for a deep pocketed funky grooves, he was once told by the late Bernard Wright; “Man you know how to make people dance, never loose that” Shawn has graced the stage & recorded with many artist. Melba Moore, Phil Perry, Force MD’s, Kenny Dope, and Raheem DeVaughn to name a few. A sideman extraordinaire.

These days Shawn is equally comfortable on the stage playing bass, behind a console mixing the show or behind the curtain managing the stage. A true consummate professional who can be found in a variety of musical situations

Joel Desroches is partakes in the great lineage of the phenomenal and extraordinary melting pot of New York City’s finest Musicians. He has been blessed to tour the world and share the stage with artists such as Paul McCartney, John Patitucci, Donnie McClurkin, Lillias White, Norman Connors, Richard Paquito D’Riviera and Clark Terry He regularly performs at The Village Underground, Marcus Samuelsson’s Red Rooster/Ginny’s Supper Club, and recently performed as an associate for NAMM.

LEROY 'LEFTY' THOMPSON, drums

MONTE CROFT, Vibes, Vocals

Monte Croft plays seven instruments —drums, vibraphone, keyboards, chromatic harmonica, bass guitar, guitar, and voice. He has performed and recorded with Steve Jordan, Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight, Valerie Simpson, and Branford Marsalis. His onscreen work includes Boardwalk Empire, Luke Cage. He appears Jimmy Heath’s Love Letter (2020), Ed Cherry’s Are We There Yet (2023). His chromatic harmonica can be heard on Branford Marsalis' soundtrack for the Netflix film Rustin (September 2023).

Reggie woods is an accomplished saxophonist, composer, arranger, and producer. His discography includes extensive affiliation and collaboration with Billy Joel, Public Enemby, Stevie Wonder, Betty Carter, and has performed with Najee, Bill Saxton, Jimmy Heath, Betty Carter, Doc Cheatham, Vanessa Rubin, Reggie has performed at the Open Air Music Festival in Switzerland, Golden Image Awards, Newark Symphony Hall, Birdland, Iridium, S.O.B.'s, Knitting Factory, Flushing Town Hall,

VIVIAN SESSOMS, vocals

Accomplished singer and Harlem native Vivian Sessoms, earned her stripes as a performer with Ryuichi Sakamoto, Cher, Michael Jackson, Chaka Khan, Donna Summer, P!nk and many others, Sessoms brings her vast array of experiences to bear on an inspired, jazz-influenced set that proves Sessoms a fiery, forward-thinking artist in her own right.
Political consciousness is never far from the surface on LIFE, Sessoms first full length in over ten years. Sessoms’ searing rendition of “Strange Fruit,” cover of The Stylistics’ brooding “People” or as evidenced on the ultra-funky “See Line Woman."
