About Paul Jost:
Paul Jost is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer/arranger. His quartet (with Jim Ridl, Dean Johnson and Tim Horner) was selected by the U.S. State Department Program, “American Music Abroad”, to represent the U.S. in a three-week overseas tour in 2020 His debut vocal album, “Breaking Through” (Dot Time) launched in 2015 and continued with "Silver Whispers", "While We Were Gone" and “Simple Life” (featuring guest vibraphonist Joe Locke). His latest offering is as guest artist on the 2024 Grammy nominated album, Orrin Evans Captain Black Big Band "Walk A Mile In My Shoe". He's been a regular on the NYC Jazz scene and performs at festivals throughout the world. He's recorded with Anna Figarova, Barry Miles, Billy Eckstine, Bobby Scott, Bucky Pizzarelli, Donald Edwards, Dr. John, Frank D'Rone, Joe Farrell, Joel Frahm, Ron Carter, Sivuca, Steve LaSpina, Teo Macero and many others.
About Jay Anderson:
Bassist, Jay Anderson has been the recipient of the NEA grant for composition and two Meet the Composer grants. More than twenty of the recordings he has been featured on have been nominated for the Grammy Award. He has conducted clinics around the world and is a Professor of Jazz Bass Studies at both the Manhattan School of Music in New York City and New Jersey City University. He has been featured on over 400 recordings, including work with Paul Bley, Randy Brecker, Bob Berg, Mike Stern, Jim McNeely, John Scofield, Seamus Blake, Oz Noy, Adam Nussbaum, John Abercrombie, Donald Byrd, Clark Terry, Bob Brookmeyer, Phil Woods, Joe Lovano, Dave Liebman, and many others.
About Jim Ridl:
Jim Ridl is in high demand as a New York City jazz pianist, composer, teacher and band leader. Jim performs worldwide with a variety of jazz artists, including The Joe Locke Quartet, The Dave Liebman Big Band, The Paul Jost Quartet and the Mingus Big Band. He has toured with the US State Department American Music Abroad program performing in Russia, South Korea, China, the Philippines, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Slovenia and Malta.As a composer and leader, Jim has released 7 recordings, the latest titled Door in a Field, Volume 2. Jim was a Princeton University Visiting Artist for three separate semesters (’12, ’14, ’16), coaching jazz ensembles in repertoire and performance. He continues as adjunct educator in Jazz Piano Studies at The City College of New York and the New York Jazz Workshop in Manhattan. From 1994 – 2004, Jim performed with jazz guitar legend Pat Martino, receiving critically acclaimed reviews of performances around the world, and producing four outstanding recordings: Interchange, Night Wings, The Maker and Nexus.
