A banished creature conjures a deity, a hot boyfriend from the bowels of an island. Under terrible bright light, first light inspires desire. A mountain range becomes a shore becomes a core. Pleasuring and annihilating each other, they turn over to the heat and meet as if for the first time, forever.
Demetris Charlambous - Director, Choreographer & Performer
Demetris Charalambous is an experimental New York City based artist born and raised on the island of Cyprus. Working in mediums spanning performance, movement, and visual art, Demetris' work reckons with the surreal, mythical and absurd. Demetris’ work and collaborations have been presented at Judson Memorial Church, Friedrichs Pontone Gallery, Performance Space New York, Center for Performance Research, Mark Morris Dance Center and telos.haus along with platforms such as NOWNESS and Berlin Commercial. Performance credits include InDance/Hari Krishnan at Jacob's Pillow and Wesleyan University, Luis Lara Malvacias, Jeremy Nelson and Toogie Teresa Barcelo. Demetris holds a BFA in Dance from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
Quique - Director, Sound Designer & Performer
Quique is a Mexican American interdisciplinary artist from Long Beach, CA. They exercise their creativity through the mediums of videography, photography, poetry, and music production. They currently live in Brooklyn and work freelance as a music producer for experimental choreographers and performance artists. Their sound has scored performances and installations at Brooklyn Art Haus, Performance Space New York, The New York Public Library, theMark Morris Dance Center, Friedrichs Pontone, Chelsea Factory, Telos Haus, and Judson Memorial Church. Their poetry has been published in the winter 2025 edition of The Poetry Society of New Yorks’ Milk Press Magazine. More of their visual work can be seen on their instagram @le_quique.
