About the event

11th Annual Emerging Trends in Dialysis Care Symposium
The 11th Annual Dialysis Symposium will explore the latest trends in offering home modality treatments.

About this Event

About

An important issue in improving the quality of care is ensuring every patient receives the best renal replacement therapy to maintain their health and quality of life. Home dialysis is a preferred renal replacement therapy. Multiple studies have shown that patients who dialyze at home have improved mortality and morbidity in comparison to patients on thrice-weekly in-center dialysis.

Join us for an insightful hybrid symposium to deepen your understanding of renal replacement education and offerings in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and explore the latest trends in home modality treatments. This event will bring together leading experts in nephrology to discuss the most current approaches to managing CKD, with a special focus on empowering patients to take control of their treatment at home.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

This program is designed to enhance the knowledge, competence, and performance of U.S. transplant surgeons, dialysis coordinators, nephrologists, nephrology fellows, and other dialysis care providers with cutting-edge topics in chronic kidney disease. Also welcome are members of the dialysis community.

OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

· Identify the benefits of home dialysis compared to in-center dialysis, including its impact on patient morbidity, mortality, and quality of life.

· Recognize the barriers to home dialysis adoption, including clinician training gaps, workforce shortages, and challenges unique to independent clinics.

· Describe best practices for educating and counseling patients on home dialysis as a renal replacement therapy option.

· Apply strategies to improve clinician readiness and confidence in prescribing and managing home dialysis therapies.

Develop actionable plans for implementing or expanding home dialysis programs in various clinical settings, particularly independent dialysis clinics.
