DJ Mickey Pérez

Chicago born & Miami raised, Mickey Pérez is a first-generation American of Cuban & Ecuadorian descent who’s been putting down the funkiest rhythms to New York City dance floors since 2008. A Brooklyn resident since 2002, Mickey represents & presents a non-commercial, diasporic sound irrespective of national borders spanning many different styles of dance music across Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, Brasil & Black America. Mickey currently has a regular monthly show on NYC's The Lot Radio titled Radio BeBop Porú which runs concurrently as a monthly to bi-monthly dance party in Brooklyn & Miami. In 2022, he launched a community-based summer music series for all ages with Toribio (Conclave/BDA) called Public Service that runs monthly across neighborhood parks in Bed-Stuy & Bushwick in Brooklyn.

Cheo y Los Consentidos de la Casa

Cheo y Los Consentidos de la Casa is the latest groove-laced project from Cheo Pardo (Los Amigos Invisibles), serving as the house band for a bi-weekly Latin throwdown at the legendary Nublu in NYC.

Born from a love of vintage Latin soul and the raw energy of NYC’s dance floors, Cheo assembled an all-star crew of the city’s hottest Latin players to cook up a high-octane blend of salsa, boogaloo, cha-cha-cha, and bolero — all filtered through wah-wah pedals, space echoes, fuzzy guitar solos, and a deep, unshakable groove. The result? A psychedelic, percussive party that’s equal parts tradition and funked-out future.

The band features Neil Ochoa (congas), Ruben Coca (timbales), José Benjamin (keys), Dan Martínez (bass), Fernando Garcia (bongos), Leo Gruber (vocals), and Cheo himself on guitar — a tight, fearless unit on a mission to put the funk in the salsa and the swing in the soul.

This isn’t your abuela’s salsa night — this is CHEO Y LOS CONSENTIDOS DE LA CASA. Funk-forward. Rhythm-obsessed. 100% dance floor approved.

Yailenne Escobar

Yailenne Escobar is a Colombian American artist, photographer, dancer, and storyteller based in Brooklyn, by way of Chicago. Her multidisciplinary practice weaves together movement, image-making, and dialogue to honor memory, celebrate culture, and nurture community. Dance—especially salsa—is where Yailenne’s cultural roots come alive. Passed down by her parents, it serves as both celebration and release. In her classes, Yailenne offers more than steps; she creates space for connection, confidence, and cultural remembrance. Open to all levels and backgrounds, her sessions invite participants to move with joy, intention, and curiosity.
