Welcome to the Tri-borough event of Abolition Commemoration Day! Join us on July 14, 2025 at 9:00 AM for a day filled with reflection and celebration. This event will honor the legacy of abolitionists and their contributions to our society. Each year, ASALH (Association for the Study of African American Life and History) have a different theme to highlight and celebrate the African Diaspora at large. This year's theme is African Americans and Labor. Not only will this program focus on Abolition Commemoration, but it will tie in the various forms of labor that the African Diaspora have been influential within the trajectory of the country and the world. Come together with fellow community members at one of four venues: Mother AME Zion Church in Harlem, Abolitionist Place in Brooklyn, United Christian Baptist Church and Hostos Community College in The Bronx to pay tribute to this important moment in history.
