Join us this World Oceans Day for a powerful, uplifting day of kotahitanga, connection, and care for our moana (oceans).
We're part of a coordinated West Coast action with paddle outs happening from Whanganui (TBC), Pātea (Mana Bay), Ngāmotu (Autere/East End), Whāingaroa (Raglan), to Te Pūaha o Waikato (Port Waikato) — all standing together to protect our oceans from seabed mining.

12:30pm – Gather at Autere / East End Beach
1:00pm – Karakia & kaupapa briefing
1:30pm – Community beach circle: “No Seabed Mining” (aerial photo)
1:50pm – Paddle Out for Our Moana – circle of unity in the water (aerial photo)
2:30–3:15pm – Guest speakers & community kōrero
3:15pm – Closing words & karakia
Paddle Out details:
For those confident in the water, bring a surfboard, boogie board, SUP, or similar (and a wetsuit!). For those feeling to stay on land, all good, this event is for everyone to attend and enjoy, something for everyone to participate in.
☕ Warm drinks available – bring some koha or cash for coffee carts.
