The Splice Poetry Series: Kristi Maxwell & Jesse DeLong

Kristi Maxwell & Jesse DeLong will read their poems at Saturn Bar on Saturday, August 9th @ 6:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public and is supported in part by http://litwire.org/

Kristi Maxwell is the author of nine books of poems, including Wide Ass of Night (Saturnalia Books, 2025); Goners (Green Linden Press, 2023), winner of the Wishing Jewel Prize; Realm Sixty-four, editor’s choice for the Sawtooth Poetry Prize; and Hush Sessions, editor’s choice for the Saturnalia Books Poetry Prize. She’s the Director of Creative Writing and an associate professor of English at the University of Louisville.

Jesse DeLong works as the Assistant Director of Creative Writing at Louisiana State University. He is the author of The Amateur Scientist's Notebook (Baobab Press) and The Vinegar in Our Hearts (Cornerstone Press, 2026). Other work has appeared in Colorado Review, Mid-American Review, and Typo, as well as the anthologies Best New Poets 2011 and Feast: Poetry and Recipes for a Full Seating at Dinner.
