Steve DeTroy Trio

𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐲 grew up with jazz in his blood — literally. His dad was a jazz pianist, and his earliest lessons happened in the pews of his family’s church and on the living room piano bench. Later, under the mentorship of 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, he developed a voice that’s as technically sharp as it is emotionally grounded.

Originally from the East Coast, Steve made his way to New Orleans and never looked back. He played with 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫 “𝐖𝐨𝐥𝐟𝐦𝐚𝐧” 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧’𝐬 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, then took his place behind the keys with the 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐎𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐉𝐚𝐳𝐳 𝐕𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬, where his piano work helps drive the band’s tight, swinging sound.

Onstage, he plays it like he means it — always. Offstage, he’s passing it on as a dedicated educator. Whether he’s in the classroom or on the bandstand, Steve’s the real deal.
