Shavout Yahrzeit — Ice Cream & Learning for David. M Freedman
Come to the Grand Soft (ice cream) Opening of the David M. Freedman Jieuxish Science Reading Room.
David died on July 11, 2023, but on the Hebrew Calendar it was Erev Shavuot, a holiday marked with all night learning and dairy delights. His yahrzeit will always be on the eve of this holiday, this year on July 1, and so we hope this will become an annual (on the Hebrew calendar) tradition.
Maybe we'll talk about the calendar, and there will be all-night learning events throughout the city. Feel free to bring a tub of ice cream or other dairy treat and we have David's extensive library to guide us. Tours of the JSRR D.M.F. Library will begin at 6:13PM!
