During festivals, New Orleans is pure magic. The city buzzes with music, from jazz to brass bands turning every street corner into a stage. Parades fill the avenues with bursts of color, wild costumes, and smiling faces, creating a vibe that's impossible to resist. The scent of Creole and Cajun food floats through the air, pulling you toward mouthwatering dishes that are as unforgettable as the city itself. It’s where the city's heart truly shines. Get yourself festive ready for the year as we drop the list of most amazing festivals happening in the city.
This lively fest will celebrate the city's rich musical heritage alongside international talents. The first day kicks off with a jazz-filled evening at the Orpheum Theater, setting the energy for the festival. The International Arts Festival NOLA will be happening in September 27 to 29, 2024 and is set to bring an eclectic mix of performances and cultural showcases. The following two days, held at Armstrong Park will have local and global artists making the city more exciting. Beyond entertainment the festival aims to boost economic growth and strengthen ties between New Orleans and its sister cities, promoting cultural exchange and unity.
This lively event always has a variety of gumbo styles, from seafood and chicken sausage to vegan options, all available in sample-sized portions from local vendors. The festival offers a lively soundtrack with performances by New Orleans brass bands adding to the festive atmosphere. Here, everyone can explore an arts market showcasing local crafts and unique artworks and enjoy cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs who share tips on making the perfect gumbo. The Tremé Creole Gumbo Festival is a vibrant celebration of New Orleans’ rich food and music culture. The festival will be happening in November at Louis Armstrong Park.
We can say this is the most delicious event! It will have over 80 menu items, including nearly 50 creative takes on beignets from classic powdered sugar to adventurous fillings like seafood and cheese. There will also be vegan and gluten-free options too. The Beignet Fest is a mouthwatering celebration will be happening in November at the City Park Festival Grounds. Along with indulging in beignets you can enjoy live local music, explore an Artist Market and have fun at an interactive Kids Village.
The festival kicks off on Friday, October 11, and continues on Saturday and Sunday.
The Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival is one of the coolest celebration of blues music and barbecue showcasing the rich culture of New Orleans. This year’s lineup features an incredible array of blues and jazz talent including Lil Ed & the Blues Imperials, Irma Thomas & the Professionals, Kenny Neal, and Marcia Ball, among others. There will also be an oral history stage at Gallier Hall with artist interviews and a custom guitar auction too.
