FREE PRODUCE THURSDAYS

Thursdays during the growing season mean FREE PRODUCE for anyone at the library! Primarily these are donations of 'gleaned' vegetables from local farms, meaning they are seconds. These are free to ANYONE from ANY TOWN. Veggies are here from 1-7pm. We can also put goods out for pickup after hours or bring to your car if requested. And we accept produce or baked goods local people or businesses would like to donate to add to the giveaway! What we are able to offer is based on donations, so the selection and quantities vary throughout the growing season. Our goals are to increase access to healthy food, make use of food that might be wasted otherwise, and promote healthy eating and cooking. It can be a great way to experiment with eating vegetables with which you aren't yet familiar.
