For MakeHaven Members:

Learn how to safely and effectively use the waterjet cutter while completing the Waterjet badge requirements. In this hands-on session, you’ll design and cut a custom metal keychain, gaining practical experience with the tool. By the end of the session, you’ll have the skills and certification to independently operate the waterjet cutter at MakeHaven.

What to Expect:
• Overview of waterjet safety protocols.
• Step-by-step instruction on preparing files for the waterjet.
• Hands-on experience cutting a small metal project.
• Completion of the Waterjet badge requirements.�
Skills You’ll Acquire:
• Safe operation of the waterjet cutter.
• File preparation and material setup for waterjet cutting.
• Understanding of waterjet capabilities and limitations.
• Hands-on experience with a completed take-home project.�

Prerequisites/Safety Information: Participants must be active MakeHaven members.
• Participants must watch the Waterjet badging video (Watch the Video) and pass the associated quiz before the class.
• Closed-toe shoes are required, and all safety protocols must be followed during the class.�
Who Should Attend:
This class is ideal for MakeHaven members who want to:
• Learn to operate the waterjet cutter independently.
• Gain certification through the Waterjet badge process.
• Create precise, professional-quality metal projects.�
Materials Provided:
• Materials for your keychain project.
• Safety equipment, including goggles and gloves.
Access to the waterjet and necessary software.
