Connecticut boasts an abundance of beauty, creativity, and opportunity. Sarah Cody, former travel reporter and anchor at WTNH, will share some of her favorites in the presentation, based on her book, “Around Every Corner of Connecticut,” at the historic Pardee-Morris House. The free event will take place on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 2 p.m.

Cody will illustrate an abundance of beautiful destinations and exciting seasonal (and year-round) activities in Connecticut. Going beyond well-known state parks, attractions, and museums, Cody will demonstrate where visitors can take a llama for a hike, spy a majestic bald eagle on the banks of the Connecticut River, or take a sleigh ride through a snowy pasture. She’ll also discuss highlights from some of Connecticut’s “trails,” including the Barn Trail, Wine Trail, and Chocolate Trail and Dinosaur Trail.
Cody hopes visitors will get some great ideas for outings and a greater appreciation for Connecticut. She notes people are interested to hear the history of the state’s lighthouses—Faulkner and Greens Ledge, in particular—and enjoy learning about the Wicked Tulips destination, and why UConn’s famous husky was named Jonathan.
Using her experience as a travel reporter, Cody will take visitors to her favorite spots, and provide valuable, and sometimes little-known information and tips. The afternoon promises a unique and spirited look at Connecticut.
