Get ready for an epic night of live and local music at The Junk Bar on Sunday 3 August as The Melancholics celebrate the launch of their brand-new double A-side single! The Melancholics blend their quirky Brisbane indie-pop sensibilities with a touch of Americana twang, a little bit of indie rock and a surprising dash of Motown soul.
Fresh from the recording desk of Brisbane music scene legend Jeff Lovejoy "The City In the South" and "Dash 8" are both powerful tracks that delve into the raw emotions of love gone bad and the difficult decision to leave.
Joining them for what is sure to be an unforgettable evening are two incredible support acts.
Making a very welcome return to the live scene are Magandjin/Brisbane's own jangly indie folk darlings, The Wicked Messenger. After a brief hiatus following their big album launch year in 2024, they're itching to get back on stage and bring their unique sound to The Junk Bar.
Also performing are June Low & The Highs, who are thrilled to share their recent musical explorations with you. Following some exciting breakthroughs reworking Emma's solo tracks and experimenting with new dynamic possibilities for unreleased material, this show is a prime opportunity to hear their latest creations before they hit the studio with sound engineer Nell Forster for upcoming releases. Expect an engaging and energetic set, and they're looking forward to a good old chin wag after the show!
Don't miss out on this fantastic night of local talent and fresh new sounds. Mark your calendars and we'll see you there!
