Join Meanjin/Brisbane-based singer-songwriter Maddison Kate as she celebrates the release of her debut EP, What I’d Say To You.
With raw emotion, earthy folk tones, and captivating storytelling, Maddison reflects on moments from her teenage years into her early twenties. What I’d Say To You is a ballad of growth and acceptance, giving voice to the things left unsaid during these pivotal years of her life.
She’ll be joined by special guests Neish and Josie Eather, two incredible local artists bringing their own heartfelt sounds to the stage.

Maddison Kate
Meanjin/Brisbane-based Maddison Kate has an enchanting voice, singing the songs of old souls. She brings raw emotion to the hearts of her audience through sweeping folk melodies and earthy tones.
Known for her introspective, poetic songwriting, Maddison explores the truths of the human experience and seeks to build connection through her music. Likened to folk legend Joni Mitchell by none other than INXS’s Andrew Farriss, Maddison Kate is a rising voice in the Australian folk scene and a storyteller to watch.
Neish
Neish is an emerging singer/songwriter from Meanjin (Brisbane) Australia. After feeling as though she didn’t have a voice, Neish found solace in music and re-discovered her sound through songwriting. Neish aims to captivate through her raw and vulnerable lyricism, and to develop a deeper connection of emotional intimacy with her listeners. Neish writes with a purpose that encapsulates personal and relatable experiences in a way that is sadly beautiful and authentic.
Josie Eather
Josie Eather is a Neosoul singer/songwriter based in Meanjin/Brisbane, hailing from Gumbaynggirr country (Coffs Harbour). Inspired by the likes of Cleo Sol, Amy Winehouse and Hiatus Kaiyote, her musical style is soulful and smooth, with a taste for vocal intricacy. Her songwriting tenderly navigates healing, grief, girlhood and empowerment.
