Art of Seeing: How to Feel Art
A safe space to slow down, breathe in beauty, and connect back with yourself, through the quiet power of art.
Led by artist and storyteller Sundeep Verma, Art of Seeing is a guided experience where you don’t need to “know art”, you just need to bring your heart. No rules. No judgments. Just an invitation to sit with a painting and let it hold your emotions, your ache, your hope, your joy, your confusion.
This edition features the work of legendary painter Gulam Mohammed Sheikh, an artist whose dreamlike paintings are maps of memory, longing, and layered lives. His canvases feel like inner worlds you’ve been to, even if only in dreams or heartbreak.

About the Program
“Art of Seeing: How to Feel Art” is an invitation to see slowly, to listen with your eyes, and to connect with art not through intellect but emotion. Designed as an art-walk format. This interactive session will help you connect deeply with India's contemporary art.
Guided by artist-educator Sundeep Verma, this special session centers around the works of legendary Indian painter Gulam Mohammed Sheikh, whose layered, poetic, and map-like paintings do not just depict the world, they immerse you into an emotional journey through your own self through them.
Through storytelling, reflection, and stillness, we’ll journey into Sheikh’s visionary universe where time folds, histories collide, and the viewer becomes part of the narrative.
This program is part of Art of Seeing, a globally conducted series with over 80 immersive art experiences held across museums, embassies, galleries, and public spaces.

Featured Artist: Gulam Mohammed Sheikh
Gulam Mohammed Sheikh is one of India’s most celebrated modern artists, a painter, poet, scholar, and thinker whose work bridges tradition and experimentation, miniature painting and contemporary politics, storytelling and silence.
Born in Gujarat in 1937, Sheikh’s art spans over five decades of imagination. Drawing from Indian, Persian, and European painting traditions, he weaves together dense visual tapestries that defy linear time and geographical borders. His canvases feel like dream-maps: layered with myth, memory, and multiplicity.
A founding figure of the Baroda School, Sheikh has also been a revered teacher, editor, and cultural commentator. His work asks us not just to look, but to wander, question, and feel.
