Afton Glen Seed Collection

Eadha Enterprises’ Coalfields to Wildwoods Project, funded by the CCLP is engaging local communities in East Ayrshire to grow and plant native trees across the area to help regenerate the landscape.
We will be leading a guided walk through beautiful Glen Afton to explore the native hazel woodlands to be found there collecting tree seeds including hazel, cherry and blackthorn for future propagation. This is a free event and all ages are welcome.
Meet at New Cumnock old cemetery at 10am. Parking along Afton Road. Please note that this is a 3.5km round walk so a degree of fitness is required. Bring a packed lunch if you wish to stay for full duration. Please register your interest.
