About the event

Shiv's Project
coLAB Arts is proud to return with a new play to Natya Darpan, a one-of-a-kind multilingual short play festival presented by Indian Heritage Cultural Association of New Jersey (IHCA-NJ), showcasing powerful performances in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, Gujarati, and English. Taking place August 23–24 at New Brunswick Performing Arts Center, this full-weekend festival features some of the most acclaimed theater groups in the U.S., celebrating stories that transcend language and culture.

Tickets provide access to the entire festival.

Join coLAB Arts at the 2025 Natya Darpan Theater Festival for Shiv's Project, a verbatim play written by Dan Swern and directed by Arpita Mukherjee, exploring generational perspectives and mental health challenges in New Jersey’s South Asian community through oral histories with the family, friends, and mentors of 14-year-old Shiv Kulkarni, who died by suicide in 2021.
