Audition Information Notice
We have our fifth show of the 2025 season to announce and we want you to be a part of it. On Sunday, August 3, 2025 at 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 4, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., and call backs, Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., HITW will be holding auditions for Frankenstein by adapted by Tim Kelly, based on the novel by Mary Shelley. The show runs October 3, 2025-October 18, 2025, including a matinee on October 12, 2025.
Play summary:
Frankenstein, a play adapted by Tim Kelly, features Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant young scientist, who returns to his Swiss chateau to escape a terrible pursuer. No one can shake free the dark secret that terrifies him: not his mother, nor his fiancée, nor his best friend. Even the pleading of a gypsy girl accused of murdering Victor's younger brother falls on deaf ears, for Victor has brought into being a creature made from pieces of the dead. The creature tracks Victor to his sanctuary to demand a bride to share its loneliness. Against his better judgement, Victor agrees and soon the household is invaded by murder, despair and terror!

Casting:
All participants must be at least 18 years old. Casting will be conducted without regard to gender, age, or race. We encourage anyone with a passion for Dr. Frankenstein and his creature to audition.
Characters:
Ernst – Inspector-General of police
Sophie – Housekeeper
Victor Frankenstein – Young Scientist
Elizabeth – Victor’s Fiancée
Henry – Victor’s friend (also a scientist)
Frau Frankenstein – Victor’s mother
The Creature – Artificially-created man
Justine – Gypsy girl
Auditions will be held on the dates listed above in person at Hole in the Wall Theater (116 Main Street, New Britain, CT 06051) with potential call backs to be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. All potential cast members must:
• Have a working and reliable source of transportation.
• Attend at least one (1) general meeting at the theater (held on the second Wednesday of each month, unless previously changed).
• Attend at least one (1) build day or evening for the set.
• Attend strike for Game On, Sunday, August 17, 2025.
• Attend strike for Frankenstein, Sunday, October 19, 2025
• Read and sign a cast contract.
• Read and sign Hole in the Wall Theater’s Code of Conduct contract.
Resumes and headshots are welcome, but not necessarily required to gain a spot in the show. Applicants will be asked to list prior acting/performance experience on the application form. Monologues are also not required, but sides from the script will be provided. Show dates of Frankenstein are Fridays and Saturdays from October 3, 2025-October 18, 2025, with one (1) Sunday matinee on October 12, 2025. Pickup rehearsal will be scheduled if needed.
