Kickin’ It with the Candidates: YUP Hosts Nonpartisan Community Kickback for New Bern
New Bern, NC — July 23rd, 2025 — The Young Urban Professionals of Eastern North Carolina (YUP) invites the community to Kickin’ It with the Candidates, a free, family-friendly kickback at Fort Totten Park on Saturday, August 30th, 2025, from 4:30–8:00 PM.
This event is designed to bring neighbors and candidates together in a relaxed, approachable setting — no speeches, no podiums, just good food, fun games, and real conversations. Attendees can enjoy kickball, music, a grill, games (including a spades table), and a chance to engage with some of the candidates running to lead New Bern.
“We wanted to create a space where voters and candidates can meet on common ground — outside of formal settings — to connect, laugh, and have real conversations about the future of our city,” said Jameesha Harris, Interim President of YUP.
Event Details:
📍 Where: Fort Totten Park, 632 Fort Totten Dr, New Bern, NC
📅 When: Saturday, August 30th, 2025 | 4:30–8:00 PM
