Over the course of two weekends, Seaglass Theater Company and the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra will present Music in the Library at four libraries across the SouthCoast.
The one-hour performances features an arrangement of Mozart's Laudate Dominum from the Vesperae solennes de confessore plus a new setting by Jodi Goble of Faure's song cycle Poeme d'un jour as well as music by Robert Schumann, Arthur Shepherd and Maurice Ravel. The repertoire spans 5 languages and several styles...a great way to experience culture and connection in a unique space.
Soloists for the concerts are soprano Addison Pattillo and tenor Marcus Huber.
“We are thrilled to partner with the NBSO on these concerts…it’s a project that’s been simmering on the back burner for a while, and I am glad that we can finally bring this program to life. It’s a perfect way to spend a relaxing hour in our local community spaces.” says Artistic Director Patrice Tiedemann.
The concerts are free and all are welcome. The May 10th concerts are part of ArtWeek SouthCoast- a multi-day festival connecting innovative, creative, and affordable art and cultural events in communities from Fall River to Wareham from May 8-18, 2025.
The Music in the Library series is supported in part by grants from the Dartmouth,
Fairhaven, Mattapoisett and New Bedford Cultural Councils, local agencies which are supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
