Fitness Day Fun at the Pardee-Morris House

Join the New Haven Museum for Fitness Day fun with Zumba, Tai Chi and yoga for ages 10+ on the lawn of the Pardee-Morris House on Sunday, June 29, 2025, beginning at 1 p.m. Participants should wear comfortable clothes and sneakers and bring a drink for hydration. At 1 p.m., Ashley Vega will lead a Zumba class for all fitness levels—dancers and non-dancers alike—combining dance and cardio exercises. Vega is the owner of Unity Fitness in New Haven, where she hosts weekly Zumba classes and special events.

At 2 p.m., Shifu Shirley Chock will lead a Tai Chi class. The class will touch on Tai Chi philosophy (including why being soft and fluid is more powerful than being hard and rigid), and guide participants through Tai Chi movements to help improve focus, strength, and balance.

At 3 p.m. we’ll enjoy yoga with Tobie Schuerfeld. For people of all abilities, this class will be a journey into mindful movement. Students will be instructed through yoga postures to create strength, flexibility, and ease of the body. Modifications will be offered to create safety for all students. Please bring your own yoga mat or towel.
