Bike Bus - to the event and/or after the event
An organised group of cyclists, with a set route and leaders, and stops along the way to pick up more riders. By riding to the event together, we can have more fun, be safer and encourage less confident cyclists! There are 16 ‘seats’ on the bus, which will be led by two qualified, experienced and friendly ‘drivers’ from Aviemore to Hill to Gill in Nethy Bridge, picking up riders from Boat of Garten along the way.
You will need your own bike and helmet. If you need to borrow a bike please get in touch and we may be able to help, where availibility allows. If you need to borrow an adaptive bike, we're working with Able To Adventure to make these available for participants. Please get in touch if you would like to borrow an adaptive cycle.
We will follow the Speyside Way and ride at a relaxed pace. Riders under 18 years old need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Route: 16km (8km to/from Boat of Garten).
Timings: 10:30am - BackcountryScot, Aviemore / 11:15am - Boat of Garten Community Hall
2:30pm - departing Hill to Grill, with a drop-off in Boat of Garten
The bike bus is supported by the Cairngorms National Park Authority and the Spin project as part of Cairngorms 2030. Cairngorms 2030 is a Cairngorms National Park Authority programme supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, with thanks to National Lottery players.
