THREE LITTLE PIGS
Magic Earth Theatre
Te Tai o Aorere/Tasman
Three homeless pigs have found a haven where they can build their own houses. What could possibly go wrong? A wolf? Magic intervenes to reveal a surprising new conclusion in this world premiere by local actors.
This humorous retelling of a much loved folk tale is suitable for all ages.
As PigSWILL was being prepared for the trough, questions were raised by a pig farmer.
What jeopardy could happen if pigs really built their own houses from sticks, straw, and bricks if a prominent TV personality gets involved?
This fantastical well-known story was modernised in our living room for your enjoyment at Red Door Theatre.
Some say this curly tale of the three little pigs was started by brick manufacturers a long time ago to promote the safety of their brick houses over timber and thatched houses. The Wolf was fire, and lived in the chimney.
Others say the real lesson is that you should not let a pig build your house. Most versions have the Wolf ending up in the cooking pot. Come along and discover the real lesson to be taken from the tale of the THREE LITTLE PIGS!
This play is presented by Magic Earth Theatre, a theatrical group founded by Deniece Gannaway in 2006 to produce original environmental stories. Written by Deniece, THREE LITTLE PIGS is directed by Faye Jansen. The actors, drawn from the top of the south, are Debbie Daniell Smith, Nathan Edmondston, Deniece Gannaway, Mitchell Mortimer-Green, Graeme North and Steve Richards..
