Escapegoat
Nikkie Karki (CRE8)
Whakatū/Nelson
Escapegoat gives a glimpse into addict experiences of how raw, unfiltered and shameful addiction can be and where the long road to recovery is fragile and easy to distract oneself from. Inside rehab, a community of addicts - each with a story - from a tapestry of trauma, resilience and hope.
Powerlessness, denial, guilt and regret are some of the themes that will be explored in the work.
The development performance includes a feedback session from the audience facilitated by dramaturg and director Donna Chapman. Feedback will focus on a Q&A - what worked? What didn’t work? What would you want us to expand on?
