Certification will be issued from The Lifesaving Society of BC/YK & WorksafeBC equivalent and will be valid for 3 years of date of issue.
Temporary cards valid for 60 days are issued upon successful course completion. Permanent cards will be emailed directly from The Lifesaving Society within that time-frame.
The Lifesaving Society of BC/YT is equivalent to The Canadian Red Cross, The Heart and Stroke Foundation, St John Ambulance and the Canadian Ski Patrol.
Course details:
The Lifesaving Society’s Emergency First Aid is a WorkSafeBC Basic equivalent. It prepares rescuers to respond effectively in an emergency. Learn lifesaving skills such as CPR/AED use, obstructed airway procedures and how to recognize and treat asthma, allergic reactions, heart attack, stroke and bleeding.
Be prepared to save a life! Knowing how to activate EMS, perform CPR, and use an AED are critical lifesaving skills that everyone should have. Learn how to recognize and treat the early signs of heart attack - additional skills include how to help someone who is choking and perform CPR.
