A. Every person fishing must be a member of the Paynes Point Hook & Spear Fishing Club. Cost will be $15.00 per individual fishing in the Derby. There is no fee for children fishing in the Derby with an adult. Memberships can be purchased online on the club's website, or at Mikee’s Paynes Point Bar.
B. Derby is limited to the Lake Winnebago, Lake Butte Des Morts, Lake Winneconne, Lake Poygan, their channels and the Fox and Wolf Rivers. No specific launch site.
C. Fishing starts at 5:00 AM and will end at 1:00 PM. Weigh-in will be from 1pm - 3pm at the Paynes Point Hook and Spear Clubhouse. Contestants must be present at the time of weigh-in to qualify for any prizes.
D. Prizes will be awarded by weight for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place for each species for the Derby. Tiebreakers will be determined by length. All monies collected will be used for prizes and food.
E. Prizes will be determined by the number of entries received. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the Derby.
F. The Derby is run on an honor system and is for the enjoyment of our club members. Each contestant is solely responsible for injury or theft of his/her equipment.
G. The directors of the Derby have the right to inspect & disqualify any fish and any individual entered.
H. No rain date: Derby/Tournament runs rain or shine!
I. Food will be available to all contestants at 2PM, and refreshments will be available for a small donation.
J. We assume all contestants are good sportsmen, honest and will abide by all State and Derby rules.
ALL ENTRIES & MONEY MUST BE RECEIVED BY June 6, 2025.
Derby Categories are as follows: Perch, White Bass, Crappie, (Bluegill/Sunfish), and Walleyes – 15” or longer
Special categories: Largest Sheephead and Catfish, by weight
