The Baker's Dozen Children's Story Time with Local Author Amy Moore

Join us for storytime, mini donuts, and a donut craft with Amy Moore, author of The Baker’s Dozen!

The Bakers Dozen is a bakery known for its decadent treats and its dozen bakers.

Twelve cookie, cake, and pastry makers. One day a new baker, Kristen, walks into the bakery offering her own specialty…doughnuts! Sweet! But why should the bakery change? Doesn’t a baker’s dozen mean 12? Written in adorable rhyme, ideal for young readers, the story reminds us that there is always room for one more—whether a doughnut or friend!

Author Amy Moore is a preschool teacher at -- believe it or not -- the same preschool she attended as a child! She has always loved working with children, and having grown up a

dancer, always wanted to teach dance. She started teaching preschool dance classes in 2002 and decided to start own children's dance program, which she has been operating in her hometown of Ashland, MA since 2012.

One of her favorite activities for a cozy day at home is baking! And donuts have a special appeal for kids of all ages. They are hard to resist! Her own personal fav is a strawberry frosted doughnut with sprinkles and she starts every birthday with one!
