Robert's Biography:
I got my start in a small town in Northern Louisiana many years ago. Once I escaped the boredom and lack of activity, I started to travel around. I spent four years with the Air Force learning about satellite communications when it was in its infancy. The knowledge that I acquired from that experience enabled me to continue to travel and learn more about the satellite industry. I have worked for numerous companies, both military and civilian, in many different locations across the United States and a few locations overseas. These positions I held enabled me to experience many different cultures and learn how other people live.
This was all very enjoyable and I learned much from these travels. However, there came a time when I was starting to get burned out from traveling and moving every couple of years. Was in New Orleans when Katrina hit and wiped me out. That was when I decided that life in the fast lane was going to fast for me so I decided to move to the country and relax. Moved to Monterey, LA where my parents were to help take care of them in their old age.
Love the country slower pace of life but once I retired I did need something to keep my mind occupied so thought I would try my hand at creativity. Wanted to do something that is not the norm since I always seem to swim against the current in my endeavors. Tried a few things like working with wood and stained glass but it was not satisfying. Then I found epoxy resin and discovered I liked working with it. Started out making all the little items made of resin but finally decided to trying painting with resin and ink. Could not find any information on how to do this so I just started experimenting. Learned how to do everything I wanted to do plus a lot more.
Now I am having a blast creating some unique items. Will continue doing this as long as I am able, unless I become bored.
